SCIENTIFIC REPORTS, 5.

MeSH headings : Nicotine / biosynthesis; Nicotine / genetics; Plant Leaves / genetics; Plant Leaves / metabolism; Plant Proteins / genetics; Plant Proteins / metabolism; Plants, Genetically Modified / genetics; Plants, Genetically Modified / metabolism; Tobacco / genetics; Tobacco / metabolism; Transcription Factors / genetics; Transcription Factors / metabolism
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the increased nicotine trait was stably inherited to the T2 and T3 generations, indicating the important role that Nt MYC2a plays in regulating nicotine accumulation in N. tabacum and the great potential of NtMYC 2a overexpression in tobacco plants for industrial nicotine production.
