Dance has the potential to positively impact and reduce these symptoms. This integrative review was conducted to identify the impacts of dance on agitation and anxiety among those living with dementia. An integrative review methodology guided the literature search and evaluation. Thirty-Nine papers were retrieved from the initial search. Five studies were included in the review. The Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool was used to assess the quality of relevant articles. Three quantitative and 2 qualitative studies were reviewed. Three out of 4 studies found dance positively impacted agitation. While 1 out of 2 studies reported improvements in anxiety. This review suggests that dance has the potential to impact anxiety and agitation symptoms of persons living with dementia. However, the evidence is weak and further research is warranted.}, journal={Geriatric Nursing}, publisher={Elsevier BV}, author={Bennett, Crystal G. and Fox, Hillary and McLain, Maria and Medina-Pacheco, Camila}, year={2020}, month={Aug} } @inproceedings{ramping up: preparing to conduct a major government documents weeding project_2020, url={http://dx.doi.org/10.26226/morressier.5f5a04c62c3338b5c13cd030}, DOI={10.26226/morressier.5f5a04c62c3338b5c13cd030}, booktitle={[]}, year={2020}, month={Oct} } @inbook{sparks_fox_2019, place={Chicago}, title={ Craving quiet: A library’s Zen Zone}, booktitle={Recipes for Mindfulness in Your Library: Supporting Resilience and Community Engagement}, publisher={American Library Association}, author={Sparks, K. and Fox, H.}, editor={Charney, M. and Colvin, J. and R, MonizEditors}, year={2019}, pages={45–54 ,} } @article{like_fox_blackburn_chisholm_2019, title={Advocating for Mental Health Nursing Care Education Using a Flipped Classroom}, url={https://doi.org/10.1891/1078-4535.25.1.32}, DOI={10.1891/1078-4535.25.1.32}, abstractNote={ Educators are challenged to meet the needs of all student learning styles. Nursing educators care deeply about student perceptions, but understand the need for critical thinking in student learning outcomes. The need for mental health nursing care touches every nursing specialty. The concepts are abstract and complex, with many unknowns concerning the mind. The flipped classroom (FC) provides an opportunity for students to explore the concepts prior to classroom learning. This article describes an initiative to integrate an FC approach with a population of baccalaureate nursing students over the course of five semesters. }, journal={Creative Nursing}, author={Like, Jill Jackson Van Der and Fox, Hillary and Blackburn, Angela and Chisholm, Jessica}, year={2019}, month={Feb} }
