Development of MOS sensor-based NH3 monitor for use in poultry houses

Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, 127, 708–715.

By: T. Lin n, S. Shah n, L. Wang-Li n, E. Oviedo-Rondón n & J. Post n

Contributors: T. Lin n, S. Shah n, L. Wang-Li n, E. Oviedo-Rondón n & J. Post n

author keywords: Gas sensor; Low cost; Humidity compensation; Electrochemical sensor; Acid scrubber
TL;DR: A monitor for measuring ammonia in poultry houses was developed using a metal oxide semiconductor sensor that was more accurate than the electrochemical sensor and required less frequent purging and has the potential to be used to control ventilation rates as a component of precision livestock farming to improve poultry performance and welfare. Phylogenetic and phenotypic characterization of Fomes fasciatus and Fomes fomentarius in the United States

MYCOLOGIA, 105(6), 1524–1534.

By: M. McCormick n, L. Grand n, J. Post n & M. Cubeta n

author keywords: Basidiomycota; ecophysiology; Polyporaceae; polypore
MeSH headings : Coriolaceae / classification; Coriolaceae / genetics; Coriolaceae / isolation & purification; Coriolaceae / metabolism; DNA, Fungal; Phenotype; Phylogeny; United States; Wood / metabolism; Wood / microbiology
TL;DR: It is found that mean basidiospore size is significantly larger in F. fomentarius and represents the most informative morphological character for delineating the species. (via Semantic Scholar)
