Purification of Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) Serotype 2 from Spodoptera frugiperda (Sf9) Lysate by Chromatographic Nonwoven Membranes

Membranes, 12(10), 944.

By: J. Fan n, E. Barbieri n, S. Shastry n, S. Menegatti n, C. Boi n & R. Carbonell n

author keywords: adeno-associated virus (AAV); viral vector purification; nonwovens; membrane adsorber; anion exchange; cation exchange; membrane chromatography
TL;DR: A strong anion-exchange membrane was developed by UV grafting glycidyl methacrylate on a polybutylene terephthalate nonwoven followed by functionalization with triethylamine, resulting in a quaternary amine ligand (AEX-TEA membrane) that exhibited a high AAV2 binding capacity and achieved excellent DNA clearance and a recovery of infectivity higher that that reported using ion-ex exchange resin chromatography. Iminodiacetic Acid (IDA) Cation-Exchange Nonwoven Membranes for Efficient Capture of Antibodies and Antibody Fragments

Membranes, 11(7), 530.

By: J. Fan n, C. Boi n, S. Lemma n, J. Lavoie n & R. Carbonell n

author keywords: membrane adsorbers; membrane chromatography; nonwoven membranes; cation-exchange; UV grafting; monoclonal antibodies (mAbs); single-chain variable fragment (scFv)
TL;DR: There is significant evidence that this weak cation-exchange nonwoven fabric platform might be a suitable alternative to packed resin chromatography for low-cost, higher productivity manufacturing of therapeutic mAbs and antibody fragments. (via Semantic Scholar)
