Stimulus features, resetting curves, and the dependence on adaptation

JOURNAL OF COMPUTATIONAL NEUROSCIENCE, 34(3), 505–520.

By: J. Arthur n, S. Burton* & G. Ermentrout*

author keywords: Spike-triggered covariance; Neural oscillator; Phase resetting curve; Perturbation; Adaptation
MeSH headings : Action Potentials / physiology; Adaptation, Physiological / physiology; Animals; Biophysics; Computer Simulation; Models, Neurological; Neurons / physiology; Time Factors
TL;DR: A formula is derived that relates the spike-triggered covariance (STC) to the phase resetting curve (PRC) of a neural oscillator to show how changes in the shape of the PRC alter the sensitivity of the neuron to different stimulus features, which are the eigenvectors of the STC. On the Relationship of Steady States of Continuous and Discrete Models Arising from Biology

BULLETIN OF MATHEMATICAL BIOLOGY, 74(12), 2779–2792.

By: A. Veliz-Cuba*, J. Arthur n, L. Hochstetler*, V. Klomps* & E. Korpi*

author keywords: Steady state; Fixed point; Discrete model; Continuous model
MeSH headings : Mathematical Concepts; Models, Biological; Nonlinear Dynamics
TL;DR: It is shown that under some conditions there is a bijection between the steady states of continuous and discrete models arising from biological systems. (via Semantic Scholar)
