The pace and direction of these changes will profoundly challenge libraries and their staffs to respond effectively. This paper presents the results of a survey that was designed to discern the perceptions and preferences of future library leaders related to organizational cultures in these times of precipitous change. The study finds that future leaders of academic libraries perceive a significant gap between their current and preferred organizational cultures and that current organizational cultures limit their effectiveness.}, number={4}, journal={COLLEGE & RESEARCH LIBRARIES}, author={Maloney, Krisellen and Antelman, Kristin and Arlitsch, Kenning and Butler, John}, year={2010}, month={Jul}, pages={322–345} } @article{antelman_2006, title={Self-archiving practice and the influence of publisher policies in the social sciences}, volume={19}, ISSN={["0953-1513"]}, DOI={10.1087/095315106776387011}, abstractNote={ABSTRACT}, number={2}, journal={LEARNED PUBLISHING}, author={Antelman, K}, year={2006}, month={Apr}, pages={85–95} } @article{antelman_lynema_pace_2006, title={Toward a twenty-first century library catalog}, volume={25}, ISSN={["2163-5226"]}, DOI={10.6017/ital.v25i3.3342}, abstractNote={Library catalogs have represented stagnant technology for close to twenty years. This study looks at articles in four disciplines at varying stages of adoption of open access—philosophy, political science, electrical and electronic engineering and mathematics—to see whether they have a greater impact as measured by citations in the ISI Web of Science database when their authors make them freely available on the Internet. The finding is that, across all four disciplines, freely available articles do have a greater research impact.
