TL;DR: A small-scale study using domestic pigs as correlates to test the impact of thermal alteration on blunt force trauma to the cranium found that distinct patterns attributed to thermal fractures and blunt force fractures are identifiable, allowing for diagnostic criteria to be narrowed down for future analyses.
