Lincoln Ray Larson

conservation social science, human dimensions, parks, outdoor recreation, pro-environmental behavior

Dr. Lincoln Larson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management at North Carolina State University, where his conservation social science research and teaching focus on promoting sustainable human-environment interactions and fostering healthy relationships between people and nature. Lincoln has degrees in Biology (B.S., Duke University), Forest Resources (M.S., University of Georgia), and Natural Resources Recreation and Tourism (Ph.D., University of Georgia). Before coming to NC State in 2017, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Cornell University and an Assistant Professor at Clemson University. Working with a variety of government agencies, NGO partners, and colleagues from around the world, Lincoln has published more than 100 journal articles, book chapters, and reports covering a range of topics including park management, nature-based recreation, environmental justice, and human dimensions of natural resource management.
