MeSH headings : Animals; Cell Communication; Drosophila Proteins / antagonists & inhibitors; Drosophila Proteins / genetics; Drosophila Proteins / metabolism; Drosophila melanogaster / embryology; Drosophila melanogaster / genetics; Drosophila melanogaster / metabolism; Embryo, Nonmammalian; Extremities / embryology; Gene Expression Profiling; Gene Expression Regulation, Developmental; Gene Regulatory Networks; Genome-Wide Association Study; Imaginal Discs / embryology; Imaginal Discs / metabolism; Larva / genetics; Larva / growth & development; Larva / metabolism; Morphogenesis / genetics; Mutation; RNA, Small Interfering / genetics; Signal Transduction
TL;DR: The utility of the Genome Wide Association Study utilizing the natural genetic variation in leg proportionality found in the Drosophila Genetic Reference Panel fly lines is demonstrated, integrating the tools of quantitative and molecular genetics to study developmental processes, and new insights are provided into the pathways and networks involved in Drosophile leg development.
