By: S. Zhang*, D. Zhu*, Z. Li*, K. Huang*, S. Hu*, H. Lutz*, M. Xie*, X. Mei* ...

Contributors: S. Zhang*, D. Zhu*, Z. Li*, K. Huang*, S. Hu*, H. Lutz*, M. Xie*, X. Mei* ...

author keywords: primary ovarian insufficiency; ovarian regenerative patch; regenerative medicine; mesenchymal stem cells; acellular therapy; fertility
MeSH headings : Animals; Apoptosis; Cell-Derived Microparticles / metabolism; Disease Models, Animal; Female; Hydrogels / pharmacology; Infertility, Female / therapy; Mesenchymal Stem Cell Transplantation / methods; Mesenchymal Stem Cells / metabolism; Ovary / pathology; Primary Ovarian Insufficiency / therapy; Rats; Rats, Sprague-Dawley; Regenerative Medicine / methods; Secretome; Stem Cells / metabolism; Tissue Scaffolds
TL;DR: In a rat model of POI, implantation of ORP rescued fertility by restoring sexual hormone secretion, estrus cycle duration, and follicle development and represents a cell-free, off-the-shelf, and clinically feasible treatment for POI. (via Semantic Scholar)

A trifunctional contraceptive gel enhances the safety and quality of sexual intercourse

BIOACTIVE MATERIALS, 6(6), 1777–1788.

By: M. Xie n, J. Li n, S. Zhang n, D. Zhu n, X. Mei n, Z. Wang n, X. Cheng n, Z. Li n, S. Wang*, K. Cheng n

Contributors: M. Xie n, J. Li n, S. Zhang n, D. Zhu n, X. Mei n, Z. Wang n, X. Cheng n, Z. Li n, S. Wang*, K. Cheng n

author keywords: Contraceptive; Hydrogel; Anti-viral; Libido; Erectile function
TL;DR: A novel TGN contraceptive gel consisting of three agents: tenofovir, gossypol acetate, and nitroglycerin (TGN) yielded a higher contraceptive success rate than that of the commercial contraceptive gel (Contragel®), and has the added benefits to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and improve male libido and erection function during sexual intercourse.
