I am a Ph.D. candidate specializing in thin film science and semiconductor magnetic nanostructures, seeking roles in the synthesis, development, and evaluation of functional materials. My doctoral research is focused on the non-equilibrium growth of novel phases of carbon- and silicon-related nanostructures for spintronic, optoelectronic, and biomedical applications. As a key team member, I played a crucial role in the groundbreaking discovery of Q-silicon, a novel ferromagnetic phase of silicon with remarkable tolerance for dopant-size misfit-induced strains. Prior to my current role, I was a research assistant at the Indian Institute of Science, specializing in the in-house development of chemical precursors for the growth of magnetic oxide nanostructures. I hold a master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, where I was awarded the prestigious IIT Board of Governors Gold Medal (the Institute's highest honor) for my outstanding achievements and academic excellence. My master's thesis focused on the chemical synthesis of superparamagnetic spinel ferrite nanostructures, where I developed a novel route to synthesize carbonaceous metal oxide nanocomposites through single-step inert-ambient pyrolysis of metal-ketoesterate complexes. I also have experience in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in materials synthesis and characterization processes. My key skills include fabrication techniques such as thin film deposition (PLD, PLA, PECVD, HFCVD, RF-magnetron sputtering), chemical synthesis (microwave, wet bench techniques), and characterization techniques such as XRD, SEM/EDS, AFM, XPS, ellipsometry, Raman/ UV-Vis/ FTIR spectroscopy, TGA/ DTA/ DSC analyses, SQUID magnetometry, and PPMS. Overall, I am a highly motivated and dedicated materials researcher with a proven track record of scientific publications and a passion for developing new technologies and improving existing ones.
