Data-Driven Insights into Labor Progression with Gaussian Processes

BIOENGINEERING-BASEL, 11(1).

By: T. Zhoroev n, E. Hamilton* & P. Warrick*

author keywords: labor; obstetrics; cardiotocography; electronic fetal monitoring; biomedical signals; signal processing; gaussian processes
TL;DR: A novel Gaussian process model of labor progress is presented, suitable for real-time use, that predicts cervical dilation and fetal station based on clinically relevant predictors available from the pelvic exam and cardiotocography and is more accurate than two separate models with single predictions.
