TL;DR: Water-vapor adsorption on poorly crystalline boehmite (PCB) was studied using a gravimetric FTIR apparatus that measured FTIR spectra and water adsorbed isotherms simultaneously and demonstrated a method to determine surface areas for materials with minimal perturbation of their surface structure.
