Contributors: B. Fortuoso*, A. Volpato*, L. Rampazzo*, P. Glombowsky*, L. Griss*, G. Galli*, L. Stefani*, M. Baldissera* ...

author keywords: Diarrhea; Homeopathic; Treatment; Calves; Intestinal health; E. coli
MeSH headings : Animals; Animals, Newborn; Anti-Bacterial Agents / therapeutic use; Bacterial Infections / microbiology; Bacterial Infections / veterinary; Blood Glucose / analysis; Blood Proteins / analysis; Brazil; Cattle; Cattle Diseases / drug therapy; Cattle Diseases / microbiology; Cattle Diseases / prevention & control; Cholesterol / blood; Diarrhea / drug therapy; Diarrhea / prevention & control; Diarrhea / veterinary; Escherichia coli / isolation & purification; Escherichia coli / pathogenicity; Escherichia coli Infections / drug therapy; Escherichia coli Infections / microbiology; Escherichia coli Infections / prevention & control; Escherichia coli Infections / veterinary; Feces / microbiology; Feces / parasitology; Giardia lamblia / isolation & purification; Giardia lamblia / pathogenicity; Giardiasis / drug therapy; Giardiasis / parasitology; Giardiasis / prevention & control; Giardiasis / veterinary; Intestines; Protozoan Infections / drug therapy; Protozoan Infections / parasitology; Protozoan Infections / prevention & control; Serum Albumin / analysis; Serum Globulins / analysis; Time Factors; Triglycerides / blood
TL;DR: Serum levels of glucose and triglycerides were greater in treated animals on days 7 and 14, suggesting that the homeopathic product contributes to improvement of intestinal health and absorption and nutrients, and reduces antibiotic utilization. (via Semantic Scholar)

Changes of adenosinergic system in piglets fed a diet co-contaminated by mycotoxin and their effects on the regulation of adenosine

Microbial Pathogenesis, 114, 328–332.

By: C. Souza*, A. Da Silva*, L. Müller*, M. Baldissera*, N. Bottari*, M. Schetinger*, J. Santurio*, E. Gloria* ...

Contributors: C. Souza*, A. Da Silva*, L. Müller*, M. Baldissera*, N. Bottari*, M. Schetinger*, J. Santurio*, E. Gloria* ...

author keywords: Mycotoxins; Animal health; ADA; Zn; Adenosine; Iimmunomodulation; Pathogenesis
MeSH headings : Adenosine / blood; Adenosine / metabolism; Adenosine Deaminase / blood; Adenosine Deaminase / metabolism; Aflatoxins / toxicity; Animal Feed; Animals; Blood Chemical Analysis; Body Weight; Diet; Disease Models, Animal; Food Contamination; Fumonisins / toxicity; Male; Mycotoxins / toxicity; Swine; Weaning; Weight Gain; Zinc / blood
TL;DR: It is concluded that piglets intoxicated by fumonisins and aflatoxins have low ADA activity and adenosine levels in serum, which can be directly related to zinc reduction, which is a cofactor for ADA. (via Semantic Scholar)
