TL;DR: Addition of HCl caused a dose-dependent increase in gastric permeability over time and apparent induction of apoptosis as determined on the basis of immunofluorescence, which suggested the utility of this method for further studies of canine gastric injury. (via Semantic Scholar)

TL;DR: One of the three turtles died within several days of the procedure, and necropsy revealed granulomatous bacterial cystitis, and it is hypothesized that these complications were likely due to the length of time between induction with oxytocin and the identification and removal of the ectopic egg.
