MeSH headings : Bacillus / metabolism; Bacteria / growth & development; Bacteria / metabolism; Butadienes / metabolism; Culture Media; Escherichia coli / metabolism; Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry; Gram-Negative Bacteria / metabolism; Gram-Positive Bacteria / metabolism; Hemiterpenes; Pentanes; Temperature
TL;DR: Various bacterial species, both Gram-negative and Gram-positive, were found to produce the volatile hydrocarbon isoprene (2-methyl-1,3-butadiene) and temperature profiles showed an optimum of 45°C and were suggestive of an enzymatic mechanism forIsoprene formation. (via Semantic Scholar)

SELECTION AND GENETIC-ANALYSIS OF A HELIOTHIS-VIRESCENS (LEPIDOPTERA, NOCTUIDAE) STRAIN WITH HIGH-LEVELS OF RESISTANCE TO BACILLUS-THURINGIENSIS TOXINS

JOURNAL OF ECONOMIC ENTOMOLOGY, 88(6), 1545–1559.

By: F. Gould*, A. Anderson, A. Reynolds, L. Bumgarner & W. Moar

author keywords: HELIOTHIS VIRESCENS; BACILLUS THURINGIENSIS; CROSS-RESISTANCE; RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT; TRANSGENIC CROPS
TL;DR: Results of this selection experiment indicate that the initial frequency of this resistance trait could be approximately 10 -3 , but field tests will be needed to confirm this rough estimate. (via Semantic Scholar)
