Elastic interactions between hydrogen atoms in metals. II. Elastic interaction energies

Physical Review B, 33(12), 8099–8109.

By: A. Shirley* & C. Hall*

TL;DR: The fully harmonic lattice approximation derived in a previous paper is used to calculate the elastic interaction energies in the niobium-hydrogen system and shows that the total induced elastic energy is approximately (1/3) the size of the total permanent elastic energy and opposite to it in sign.
