2008 journal article

Non-invasive mass transfer measurements in complex biofilm-coated structures.

Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 101(3), 602–608.

By: D. Graf Von Der Schulenburg*, B. Akpa*, L. Gladden* & M. Johns*

Contributors: D. Graf Von Der Schulenburg*, B. Akpa*, L. Gladden* & M. Johns*

MeSH headings : Biofilms / growth & development; Biological Transport; Carbon Isotopes / analysis; Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy / methods
TL;DR: A novel application of 13C pulsed field gradient NMR to monitor mass transfer in a 3D complex porous support structure modified by biofilm growth is demonstrated, enabling timescales an order of magnitude larger than previously possible to be accessed with respect to displacement probability distribution (propagator) measurements. Global analysis of Arabidopsis gene expression uncovers a complex array of changes impacting pathogen response and cell cycle during geminivirus infection

Plant Physiology, 148(1), 436–454.

By: J. Ascencio-Ibáñez n, R. Sozzani n, T. Lee n, T. Chu n, R. Wolfinger n, R. Cella n, L. Hanley-Bowdoin n

MeSH headings : Arabidopsis / physiology; Arabidopsis / virology; Cell Cycle; DNA Repair; DNA Replication; E2F Transcription Factors / metabolism; Geminiviridae / physiology; Gene Expression; Gene Expression Profiling; Genes, Plant; Host-Parasite Interactions; Oligonucleotide Array Sequence Analysis; Plant Diseases; Plant Leaves / metabolism; Plant Leaves / virology; RNA Viruses / physiology; Signal Transduction
TL;DR: Geminiviruses modulate plant cell cycle status by differentially impacting the CYCD/retinoblastoma-related protein/E2F regulatory network and facilitating progression into the endocycle. (via Semantic Scholar)
