By: J. Haugh n & I. Schneider n

author keywords: cellular biology and engineering; kinetics; diffusion; mathematical modeling; chemotaxis; cell migration

Effect of confinement by porous carbons on the unimolecular decomposition of formaldehyde

JOURNAL OF CHEMICAL PHYSICS, 125(8).

By: E. Santiso n, A. George n, K. Gubbins n & M. Nardelli n

TL;DR: D density functional theory calculations on the unimolecular decomposition of formaldehyde within graphitic carbons show that the interactions with the carbon walls result in a lowering of the reaction barrier, and there is a shift of the equilibrium towards the formation of carbon monoxide and hydrogen at low temperatures. Design of random copolymers with statistically controlled monomer sequence distributions via Monte Carlo simulations

JOURNAL OF CHEMICAL PHYSICS, 125(1).

By: J. Semler n & J. Genzer n

TL;DR: A simple analysis of the A-B monomer sequences in the copolymers reveals that monomer sequence distributions in homopolymers "colored" under collapsed conformations possess certain degrees of self-similarity, while there is no correlation found among the monomers sequence distributions formed by coloring homopolymer with expanded conformations.
