Science, 147(3661), 1045–1047.

By: E. Pollard*, M. Ebert*, C. Miller*, K. Kolacz* & T. Barone*

MeSH headings : Carbon Isotopes; DNA; DNA, Bacterial; Escherichia coli; Galactosidases; Macromolecular Substances; Metabolism; Proline; Proteins / metabolism; Radiation Effects; Radiation, Ionizing; Radiometry; Research; Thymine; Uracil; Valine; beta-Galactosidase
TL;DR: The incorporation of uracil-C14 into macromolecules in Escherichia coli cells is decreased by doses of ionizing radiation when the cells are in very dilute suspension, and a similar reaction is observed during the incorporation of thymine and proline and valine. (via Semantic Scholar)
