Purification of Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) Serotype 2 from Spodoptera frugiperda (Sf9) Lysate by Chromatographic Nonwoven Membranes

MEMBRANES, 12(10).

author keywords: adeno-associated virus (AAV); viral vector purification; nonwovens; membrane adsorber; anion exchange; cation exchange; membrane chromatography
TL;DR: A strong anion-exchange membrane was developed by UV grafting glycidyl methacrylate on a polybutylene terephthalate nonwoven followed by functionalization with triethylamine, resulting in a quaternary amine ligand (AEX-TEA membrane) that exhibited a high AAV2 binding capacity and achieved excellent DNA clearance and a recovery of infectivity higher that that reported using ion-ex exchange resin chromatography. Epigenome-wide association study of bronchopulmonary dysplasia in preterm infants: results from the discovery-BPD program

CLINICAL EPIGENETICS, 14(1).

By: X. Wang*, H. Cho*, M. Campbell*, V. Panduri*, S. Coviello*, M. Caballero*, D. Sambandan n, S. Kleeberger* ...

author keywords: Preterm infant; Cord blood; DNA methylation; Epigenome-wide association study; Gestational age; Stochastic epimutation; Nucleated red blood cell; cDNA microarray; Bronchopulmonary dysplasia; Lung
MeSH headings : Biomarkers; Birth Weight; Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia / genetics; DNA Methylation; Epigenome; Humans; Infant; Infant, Newborn; Infant, Premature
TL;DR: Results must be interpreted with caution because of the small size of this study, NRBC content strongly impacted DNA methylation profiles in preterm cord blood and EWAS analysis revealed potential insights into biological pathways involved in BPD pathogenesis. (via Semantic Scholar)

Using Proteomic Approaches to Unravel the Response of Ctenocephalides felis felis to Blood Feeding and Infection With Bartonella henselae

FRONTIERS IN CELLULAR AND INFECTION MICROBIOLOGY, 12.

By: M. Andre n, P. Neupane n, M. Lappin*, B. Herrin*, V. Smith*, T. Williams n, L. Collins n, H. Bai n ...

author keywords: bartonellosis; cat flea; cat scratch disease; flea-pathogen interface; proteome
MeSH headings : Animals; Bartonella henselae / genetics; Cat Diseases; Cats; Ctenocephalides; Felis; Proteomics; Siphonaptera
TL;DR: Flea-differentially abundant proteins (FDAP) are investigated in unfed fleas, fleas fed on uninfected cats, and flea fed on B. henselae-infected cats to help understand the complex interactions between cat fleas and B. Henselae over an infection time course, thus helping understand the dual effect of vaccine targeting both flea fitness and pathogen competence. (via Semantic Scholar)
